Awaken the Sleeping Energy Within
Our 200 Hour kundalini yoga in Rishikesh is a 25-day residential RYS 200 course built around classical kundalini sadhana — the gradual awakening of the dormant energy coiled at the base of the spine. Drawing from the Yoga Kundalini Upanishad, Hatha Yoga Pradipika and Kashmir Shaivism, the course covers the 7 chakras, the system of 72,000 nadis, and the Tantric Sadhana that gradually opens Sushumna from Mooladhara to Sahasrara. New to kundalini? Start gentler with our 100-hour kundalini tantra foundation.
Held on the banks of the Ganga in Laxman Jhula, this 25-day immersion combines Kundalini Kriya Yoga, Tantra Pranayama, Mantra-Shaktipata, Bandhas & Mudras, with classical Hatha asana as the supportive foundation. You can begin at 100 hours or advance to our 300-hour advanced kundalini program. Graduate with a Yoga Alliance USA RYT 200 certificate, trained by teachers rooted in the classical Himalayan tradition of Swami Rama. Want a non-teaching format? See our kundalini yoga retreat in Rishikesh, or study from home with our online kundalini YTT.
Advantages of our 200 Hour Kundalini, Tantra & Meditation Yoga
Most modern yoga focuses on the physical body. Our 200 Hour Kundalini Yoga TTC takes you beyond asana into the energy body — the chakras, nadis, panchakosha and the dormant Kundalini Shakti. You learn the classical practices of Kundalini Kriya Yoga, Tantric Pranayama (Bhramari, Bhastrika, Nadi-Shodhanam), Bandhas, Mudras and Mantra-Shaktipata to safely awaken inner awareness.
The course unfolds Kundalini Tantra philosophy from the Yoga Kundalini Upanishad, Hatha Yoga Pradipika and the Himalayan masters — not as theory but as living Sadhana. Daily Yoga Nidra, chakra meditation and silent practice rebuild the nervous system, dissolve emotional blockages and prepare Sushumna Nadi for the rise of consciousness from Mooladhara to Sahasrara.
“Kundalini is not a technique — it is the very Shakti of life. When the dormant serpent uncoils, the practitioner is transformed from within. We do not chase awakening; we create the conditions where it naturally happens.” — Yogi Vishnu, Founder, Samadhi Yoga Ashram
Join us in Rishikesh on the banks of Ganga for our 200 Hour Kundalini, Tantra & Meditation Yoga TTC — a 25-day immersion in lineage-rooted Kundalini Sadhana, Yoga Alliance USA RYT-200 certified.
Course Hour Breakdown
The 200 hour Kundalini curriculum is organised around its core pillars — kriya, pranayama, mantra, meditation and the philosophy of energy and awakening. Together they form a complete foundation in the Kundalini path and the base for our 300 and 500 hour Kundalini programs. The technical reference behind the pranayama, mudra and bandha modules is Swami Satyananda's Asana Pranayama Mudra Bandha — free to download from our yoga library.
Each practice is repeated daily through the residential immersion, so rather than touching a kriya once you build it into a steady sadhana. This daily repetition — the traditional gurukul method — is what makes 200 hours of Kundalini immersion in Rishikesh noticeably different from the same material learned piecemeal.

Committed To Providing The Best
We Follow
Samadhi Yoga Ashram follows the teachings of generations of Himalayan masters and saints who lived in the cave hermitages of the Himalayas. The teaching lineage stretches back nearly 5,000 years and includes Adi Shankaracharya, Swami Rama of the Himalayas, and his student Swami Veda Bharati. This tradition was practiced for centuries without a single name — we refer to it simply as the Tradition of the Himalayan Masters.
Yogi Vishnu Panigrahi, the founder of Samadhi Yoga Ashram, is a student of Swami Veda Bharati — who was, in turn, a student of Swami Rama. Through this unbroken teacher-student chain, the practical methods of pranayama, meditation, kriya and yoga philosophy have been transmitted from one generation to the next without being diluted by trend.
Although yoga has roots in Hindu culture, it is not a religion. The Himalayan path is open to anyone — regardless of religion, language or nationality. What it asks of you is sincerity, regularity, and willingness to learn from a teacher. The classical teacher-student relationship is still the foundation of how we work.
The ashram teaches the full eight-limbed path of yoga — including Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Jnana Yoga, Raja Yoga, Kundalini Yoga and Tantra Yoga. A central instruction of the Himalayan tradition is "to be free of fear, become aware of the reality within." The work is practical, daily, and grounded — not abstract, not religious, not performative.

FAQs - 200 Hour Kundalini Yoga TTC
"Kundalini" literally means "coiled", like a sleeping serpent — the dormant life-energy that rests at the base of the spine. Kundalini Yoga is the set of practices that gently awakens this energy. Drawing on classical texts such as the Yoga Kundalini Upanishad and Hatha Yoga Pradipika, it uses energy locks (bandhas), hand gestures (mudras), mantras and cleansing practices (kriyas) to purify the body’s energy centres (chakras) and channels (nadis), so the awakened energy can rise safely up the spine.
Most modern yoga is asana-based and physical in focus. Our 200 Hour Kundalini TTC is rooted in the classical Himalayan tradition of Swami Rama and Kashmir Shaivism — not the Yogi Bhajan / KRI lineage. The course centres on chakra sadhana, kriya yoga, tantric pranayama, mantra-shaktipata and meditation, with classical Hatha asana as the supportive foundation.
No formal yoga background is required, but a sincere meditator's mindset, basic physical fitness and openness to lineage really help. We begin from foundational asana, pranayama and chakra awareness, then layer the deeper Kundalini practices over the 25-day immersion. The only real prerequisites are respect, patience and willingness to live the ashram routine.
Yes. On successful completion of the 200 Hour Kundalini Yoga TTC, you receive a Yoga Alliance USA RYT-200 certificate — internationally recognised — alongside our ashram's lineage-based completion certificate. Samadhi Yoga Ashram is a Yoga Alliance registered school (RYS 200/300/500).
Regular practice supports physical wellbeing, flexibility, nerve strength and weight balance, while bringing mental and emotional stability, inner joy, clarity and mindfulness. On the deeper level it dissolves blockages, calms the nervous system and supports spiritual awakening, fearlessness and self-knowledge as Sushumna gradually opens.
Yes — when taught traditionally and gradually, Kundalini sadhana is safe and deeply healing. The course follows a step-by-step preparation: cleansing kriyas, balancing pranayama, bandhas, mudras and chakra meditation. Mantra-Shaktipata is introduced respectfully, in line with the lineage, and only after the body and mind are prepared. We do not force awakenings — we create the conditions.
