FAQs — 500 Hour Online Yoga TTC

Frequently Asked Questions — 500 Hour Online Yoga Teacher Training

  • Sincere students who want the full RYT 500 credential in a single combined programme
  • RYT 200 graduates ready to complete the 300-hour advanced block
  • Teachers looking to deepen practice and add yoga therapy, advanced anatomy and philosophy
  • Anyone who wants to study the complete multi-style curriculum at their own pace

The 500-hour course combines our 200-hour foundation and 300-hour advanced syllabus, so you can join as a sincere beginner. However, a regular yoga practice of 6 months or more is strongly recommended before you begin.

You need basic English to comfortably attend our yoga course. At least 6 months of prior yoga practice is recommended, though beginners with a sincere intention are also welcome.

You have a full year of course access. The minimum live commitment is structured across the 200-hour and 300-hour live blocks, after which you continue with self-paced study and recorded modules.

After completing the full 500-hour course, register on the Yoga Alliance website and upload your certificate. Yoga Alliance verifies with us and once approved you can pay the registration fee and use the RYT 500 designation.

  • All course videos are streamed through our online learning platform — play any module one by one and study at your own pace
  • You also get 240 hours of live Zoom classes with full meeting credentials sent to your registered email
  • We add every enrolled student to a private WhatsApp group so the teaching team can resolve doubts directly

The combined 500-hour programme runs across the live 200-hour and 300-hour blocks, with recorded study time between and after. Full course access remains for 1 year.

Our online cohorts typically have around 20 to 40 students from across the world — small enough for personal attention, large enough for a rich shared community.

Surprisingly well — after a year of online teaching to 1,500+ students worldwide we have seen that the online format genuinely works for serious practice. You stay in the comfort of your home, practise on familiar mats, and the teaching depth is undiluted. The Zoom classes are interactive, with real-time alignment feedback, and the recorded modules let you revisit any concept.

A computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone with a stable internet connection is enough. A microphone helps for clearer Q&A and a webcam is helpful for alignment feedback during live classes.

Every live class is recorded, so a few days away from your studies are no problem. Resume whenever you can and complete the course within your one-year window.

All textbooks and manuals are provided as e-books inside your student portal. You do not need to buy anything extra; if a teacher recommends a specific book you may choose to purchase it on your own.

Yes — students who genuinely need assistance can reach out to our team directly and we will discuss flexible options on a case-by-case basis.

There are no refunds for online course fees once paid. Please review our schedule, programme and student feedback carefully before booking. If you cannot attend a particular month, you can postpone your live cohort to a future month at no cost.

You can register at any time. If you plan to teach professionally, the sooner you complete the 500-hour the sooner you can register as RYT 500 and begin building your teaching practice.

We Follow

The 5000 Years Old Yoga Tradition of The Himalayan Masters

Samadhi Yoga Ashram follows the teachings of generations of Himalayan masters and saints who lived in the cave hermitages of the Himalayas. The teaching lineage stretches back nearly 5,000 years and includes Adi Shankaracharya, Swami Rama of the Himalayas, and his student Swami Veda Bharati. This tradition was practiced for centuries without a single name — we refer to it simply as the Tradition of the Himalayan Masters.

Yogi Vishnu Panigrahi, the founder of Samadhi Yoga Ashram, is a student of Swami Veda Bharati — who was, in turn, a student of Swami Rama. Through this unbroken teacher-student chain, the practical methods of pranayama, meditation, kriya and yoga philosophy have been transmitted from one generation to the next without being diluted by trend.

Although yoga has roots in Hindu culture, it is not a religion. The Himalayan path is open to anyone — regardless of religion, language or nationality. What it asks of you is sincerity, regularity, and willingness to learn from a teacher. The classical teacher-student relationship is still the foundation of how we work.

The ashram teaches the full eight-limbed path of yoga — including Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Jnana Yoga, Raja Yoga, Kundalini Yoga and Tantra Yoga. A central instruction of the Himalayan tradition is "to be free of fear, become aware of the reality within." The work is practical, daily, and grounded — not abstract, not religious, not performative.
