500 Hour Yoga Teacher Training In India Overview

200 hours Yoga TTC + 300 hours Yoga TTC = 500 Hours / 60 Days Yoga Teacher Training Course. This course is highly recommended for all levels of yoga practitioners as it covers both beginner and advanced levels. In the first 30 days (200 hrs) students are given a strong yoga foundation so they don’t lack the basics of yogic sciences — the right direction, right lifestyle, daily practice of asanas, pranayama and meditation.

In the second 30 days (300 hrs) students are guided into advanced practices of yoga asanas, pranayama, meditation and yoga therapy — realizing an immortal self. After completing 500 hours, you are fully prepared to share the wisdom of yoga sciences with the world as a globally-credentialed RYT 500 master teacher.

Our 500 Hour Holistic Samadhi Yoga TTC is recognized by Yoga Alliance USA — helping you not only deepen your practice but also build a lifelong career as a yoga teacher with the authority to lead workshops, retreats, and your own teacher trainings worldwide.

Advanced Yoga TTC gives you more opportunity to know yourself deeper. It not only covers the advanced postures but a deeper experience — you will gain the art of dealing with the bigger problems of life. — Yogi Vishnu

Course Hour Breakdown

Understanding The Structure Of The 500 Hour YTTC In Rishikesh

The 500 hour curriculum combines the foundational 200 hour and advanced 300 hour structures into one continuous journey across the five traditional pillars of yoga. It is the most complete certification we offer, taking you from first principles to confident, advanced teaching.

Each pillar is taught daily through the long residential immersion, so you return to every subject every day rather than studying it once and moving on. This repetition — the traditional gurukul method — is what makes 500 hours in Rishikesh a true transformation rather than a stack of certificates.

Classes 60 days × 7 hrs/day 420 Hours
Self-Study 40 days × 2 hrs/day 80 Hours

We Follow

The 5000 Years Old Yoga Tradition of The Himalayan Masters

Samadhi Yoga Ashram follows the teachings of generations of Himalayan masters and saints who lived in the cave hermitages of the Himalayas. The teaching lineage stretches back nearly 5,000 years and includes Adi Shankaracharya, Swami Rama of the Himalayas, and his student Swami Veda Bharati. This tradition was practiced for centuries without a single name — we refer to it simply as the Tradition of the Himalayan Masters.

Yogi Vishnu Panigrahi, the founder of Samadhi Yoga Ashram, is a student of Swami Veda Bharati — who was, in turn, a student of Swami Rama. Through this unbroken teacher-student chain, the practical methods of pranayama, meditation, kriya and yoga philosophy have been transmitted from one generation to the next without being diluted by trend.

Although yoga has roots in Hindu culture, it is not a religion. The Himalayan path is open to anyone — regardless of religion, language or nationality. What it asks of you is sincerity, regularity, and willingness to learn from a teacher. The classical teacher-student relationship is still the foundation of how we work.

The ashram teaches the full eight-limbed path of yoga — including Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Jnana Yoga, Raja Yoga, Kundalini Yoga and Tantra Yoga. A central instruction of the Himalayan tradition is "to be free of fear, become aware of the reality within." The work is practical, daily, and grounded — not abstract, not religious, not performative.

FAQs - 500 Hour Yoga TTC

Frequently Asked Question - 500 Hour Yoga Teacher Training In Rishikesh

Almost. Our 500 hour yoga teacher training in Rishikesh is registered with Yoga Alliance USA as RYS 500. On completion you can apply to register with Yoga Alliance as a RYT 500 - the highest widely-recognised teaching credential in modern yoga.

Our combined 500 hour YTT is 60 days residential at the Rishikesh ashram - 200 hours foundation in month one followed by 300 hours advanced in month two. You can also split: take the 200-hour now and the 300-hour later.

Yes - our 60-day continuous immersion lets you complete 200 hours plus 300 hours back-to-back at the same ashram, with the same faculty, for maximum continuity. Many international students prefer this format for visa simplicity.

The full RYS 500 curriculum: Hatha, Ashtanga, Vinyasa asana, advanced asana, pranayama, meditation, Patanjali Yoga Sutras and Bhagavad Gita philosophy, anatomy and physiology, yoga therapy applications, teaching methodology, business of yoga, two months of accommodation, three sattvic meals daily and Yoga Alliance certification.

Build a daily yoga practice for at least 3 months, study Patanjali Yoga Sutras in advance, prepare physically (60 days residential is demanding), arrange a 60-day visa, and come with an open heart and willingness to be transformed.

Yoga Alliance recommends at least 2 years of regular personal practice before teaching. Quality matters more than years - what matters is sincere, regular practice and a deep understanding of the practices and their effects on body and mind.
