Seven Chakras Of Kundalini

In a human body there is existence of seven prominent chakras or Kundalini's as depicted in Patanjali Yogasutra – the Most ancient and systematic form of Yoga literature. These chakras are (from the base layer to the supreme):

  • Muladhara – The root chakra or the base of the physical and spiritual existence of a human body is known as the Muladhara. This is the base, which connected the three major qualities of a soul, i.e. Sattva (harmonious balance), Rajas (active qualities), Tamas (lethargic quality). This Chakra or Kundalini is considered to be present at the root of the Spine, making a direct bond between the soul and the body. This is the base chakra over which all other six layers of Chakras rest their presence. This Chakra is considered as the storehouse of energy in a phase of static, unless and until the Chakras are awakened and energy is rooted upward to attain a higher state of trance.
  • Swadhistan – This Kundalini Chakra is considered to exist just over the Muladhara and the center of all procreative energy. This is also harmonious with the sexual and reproductive energy center, which can form live on this earth. This is also one of the most disturbed chakras of a human which causes a high inclination towards sexual desires. This Kundalini upon awakening can offer greater control over sexual desires and can take the Brahma beej (the seeds of supremacy) to a much higher state.
  • Manipura – The third Kundalini Chakra Manipura is known as the seat of power, which is present just below the navel region. This is the place where the sense of personal identity is present. This is the control center of physiological and physical well-being and has a great impact on the flow of fire and energy in the human body.
  • Anahata – This specific Kundalini is in the center of the chest in the Spine, which controls the emotions of a human. This chakra can open a deep sense of peace and internal happiness upon awakening. The phases of the awakening of this chakra may take you on an emotional roller-coaster ride with different feelings of happiness or grief ultimately resulting in pure bliss and peace. Some people may also experience temporary clairvoyance and hear sounds of humming and music of flutes as well during the awakening of this Chakra.
  • Vishuddhi – Present in the cervical plexus behind the throat region, this is the Chakra of purity. This chakra awakening can result in special abilities like sweet voices, remarkable talks and even singing abilities. Shabd or Nada Yoga is the practice to awaken this chakra and can be opened through devotional music, chanting, and Jaap of Mantras.
  • Ajna (The Third Eye) – This supreme Kundalini Chakra is known to be the command center of the entire physical body. Present just above the eye-brows exactly in the middle of both eyes, it is considered to be a power-house and can offer visions, deep stillness, flashes of great light and so many others. The great illustration of the power of this Chakra can be linked with Mahadev Shiva’s 3rd eye.
  • Sahasrara (A thousand petals) – This is the highest level of Kundalini which is considered to be present in the middle of the skull exactly on the top of the spinal cord. This chakra is demarked as a lotus with a thousand petals and is considered the supreme state of attainment in a physical presence. Opening of this kundalini can open tremendous powers to go into a state of trance and offer the supreme Samadhi state to a human. Under the guidance of a Sadguru, this Chakra can be awakened in a systematic manner harnessing an unimaginable amount of energy.

FAQs - 300 Hour Kundalini Yoga TTC

Frequently Asked Question - 300 Hour Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training In Rishikesh

"Kundalini" literally means coiling, like a snake. In the classical literature of hatha yoga kundalini is described as a coiled serpent at the base of the spine. “Kunda” means fire pit also, and that fire is covered with ash that’s why it is unable to burn the impurities of our life. It is the energy of awareness, creativity force of life.

The practices that helps to awaken the dormant serpent energy is called kundalini yoga. The purpose of hatha yoga is to awaken that energy but as we follow yogakundalini Upanishad, Hatha yoga pradipika and some other texts we are teaching certain exercises that clean our chakras, nadis and awake them. Bandhas, mudras, mantras, kriyas are the most powerful tool in kundalini yoga practices.

As other yoga mostly practiced physically and based on asana; but here kundalini yoga is spiritual in nature.

Regular practice of kundalini yoga bring physical wellbeing, improve flexibility, muscle tone and nerve strength, weight loss, balances all systems of the body, increase strength, mental and emotional balance, inner joy, clarity, mindfulness, reduce stress, spiritual awakening, fearlessness, etc.

There is no such founder of kundalini yoga, it is ancient and no ancient teacher proclaim as the founder. All great sages and seers who discovered this energy and they share the knowledge for the sake of humanity. Lord Shiva and his wife Parvati considered as the beginning less yogis who taught the secret of kundalini yoga.

Yogi Bhajan has created a system of practice called Kundalini yoga with specific chanting of Sikhism which is part of great Indian culture. But before him this yoga exist. Time to time the teachers they teach in their own way and create their brand with the same name.

We follow the ancient tradition of Kundalini yoga that has mentioned in ancient scriptures like yoga kundalini Upanishad, hatha yoga pradipika, etc. Yogi Vishnu has nicely compiled the practices and he has been teaching the same for more than 15 years.

No, we teach traditional kundalini yoga. We are not the part of kundalini Research Institute KRI founded by Yogi Bhajan. We follow the teachings of Himalayan Master Swami Rama, Mahavatar Babaji kriya yoga, and many other masters from Kashmir Shaivism.

Prana is the vital breath and bio-energetic motility which is associated with maintaining the functioning of the mind and body. Kundalini has a manifestations as consciousness and a unifying cosmic energy. When the prana get balanced and expands then in susumna channel kundalini rise above in the spine. They are deeply connected to each other.

In the yogic anatomy we study that susumna is the central channel which runs along with our spine from the root to crown center. It pierce through 7 chakras and chakras are associated with the most important aspects of life. By awakening it all the nadis and chakras get balanced and opened. Kundalini yoga removes the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual blockages and allow the life to move freely and joyfully.

Sure, Kundalini yoga can make you fit physically. Your health not only related with the body but your mind, emotion too. As most of the diseases are psychosomatic kundalini yoga heal the root cause called mind.

Many yogis has mentioned in their book that the kundalini awakening has several symptoms such as a mild sense of a trickle of energy up the spine. This is just an energy movement but true awaken can be different experience like volcano erupting inside. It gives a very pleasant sensation and leads to complete stillness and silence. Many people believes that when it awaken your whole body shakes and one feel like crazy. But they are the experience of pranic vibration as you feel body shaking in winter.

There are lots of scientific research on these topic from what it is proved that they are exist but they are subtle and physically it cannot be seen. Izaak Benthov has proposed a model to explain kundalini in terms of micro-motion in the brain. It has the micro vibration and it stimulate different part like heart, throat, navel Centre etc.

In Vajrayana tradition of tebetion Buddhism they practice kundalini yoga as they are originated in India in 12th century. Christianity, Sufism and some other tradition also have similar practice that show it is a universal practice.

To awaken kundalini you need to work on every part of yourself. There are so many ways like “Bhakti”devotion, “seva” selfless service, “Jnana” inquiry to self-etc. they all help to remove the blockages. Then when you will find a real guru, he/she will transmit the energy “Shaktipat” called decent of Shakti according to their own tradition. Following the teachings of Guru you can be blessed with this experience.

It is said when student is ready, guru arrives. So do not search for a guru but prepare yourself more and more and one day Guru Come to you in any ways. After you find him you mind always find so comfortable even looking in his picture or video or in dream. Once you feel that feeling then test the Guru if he is real or not. Once you start believing then trust and surrender yourself and ask for blessings and teachings.

That’s why in the Himalayan tradition we teach very systematically step by step so that students enjoy can be safe from any kind of problems.

We Follow

The 5000 Years Old Yoga Tradition of The Himalayan Masters

The Samadhi Yoga Ashram follows the teachings of generations of Himalayan Masters, Avatars, and great Saints who originate from the ancient cave hermitages of the Himalayas. The lineage of the teaching tradition dates back almost five thousand years, Masters, Avatars, and Saints include Swami Rama and his teacher Bangali Baba who is a direct disciple of Maha Avatar Babaji. This prodigious tradition was practiced without a name and we aptly named it “The Tradition of the Himalayan Masters.”

Yoga Vishnu Panigrahi who is a disciple of Swami Veda Bharati who is, in turn, a disciple of Swami Rama has now devoted his time, energy, and spirituality to encourage and advance the Himalayan Tradition and to bring world peace by consummating Samadhi, which really should be the ultimate goal of human life.

Although Yoga’s roots are closely linked to Hindu culture, Yoga should not be misinterpreted as a religion. The path of the Himalayan tradition is very simple and anyone can practice it irrespective of religion, faith, gender, language, and nationality. Transmission of knowledge involves a close teacher-pupil relationship, which forms a stable foundation that leads to pupils getting liberated from worldly attachments and fulfilling their spiritual destinies.

The Ashram follows a holistic path of Yoga embracing Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Jana Yoga, Raja Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, and Tantra Yoga. The message of a Himalayan Master is “To get freedom from all fears, be aware of the reality within.” Be spontaneous in your approach and let yourself become the instrument to impart pure spirituality without any religious or cultural convictions.

I trained with Yogi Vishnu Ji for a 200 hr self-paced traditional kundalini & tantra certification course. His warm and professional way of teaching aligned with how I learn best. The material is organized, there are supporting people behind the scenes and the course felt like a family. Since I was self-paced and I have limited internet, it was important for me to find a course where I could learn through videos 2-3 days a week. I took the whole 3 months to complete the course, however still feel connected to the knowledge and warmth of Yogi Ji... Thank you Samadhi Yoga Ashram for offering such a gift that will be passed to the world.

I have been practicing yoga for 3,5 years. I have always wanted to learn yoga deeper and to become one day a yoga teacher. I believe you can learn and study more just by teaching others. In this way, you can grow yourself and you can help other people grow as well. I had a lot of questions in my mind when I decided to register for Guru Vishnu’s yoga teacher training course. He promised that the course would change my life. But I didn’t expect that the changes in my life would be so rapid and huge. I am delighted with the level of preparation of any events, quantity, and quality of information! I am very impressed!

I am so grateful to have chosen to attend this school online, it really changed my perspective of learning yoga in a more traditional sense giving me the greatest understanding I need to continue my journey. The teachers are beyond amazing and the people you meet wonderful people from all over the world. I cannot wait to attend this school in India in the nearest future. I highly recommend this school. I love the traditional teachings which gave me the experience I needed to build a strong yoga foundation. It is definitely life-changing in the most positive way. I love this school!!!

Well, my experience over the last month has been magical, to say the least. I had signed up for a Kundalini YTT and that Kundalini knowledge ended up being just the extra bonus. The daily lessons with Guru Vishnu Ji are something I feel everyone should experience in their lifetime, our world would be a much better place, that is for sure. The amazing group of my classmates from all over the world truly added a real sparkle to my experience. It is so incredibly refreshing to be surrounded by so many wonderful, like-minded people, even if only on a virtual platform for now. I can not wait to meet my new family live in Rishikesh when the time is right.

I had an amazing experience with Samadhi Yoga Ashram for my Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training. It was an online version, but they did so well in helping to feel deeply connected to the teachers, staff, my Guruji Vishnu, and my fellow students around the world. They are authentic, warm-hearted, and very supportive in helping students find their path as not only a yoga teacher, but a student, a yogi who lives yoga as a way of life, and in navigating personal and collective wounds. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking traditional yoga as a way of life and in guiding others on their path too. It was a life-changing experience, following a very challenging couple of years. I am finally feeling whole again.

Staying at the Samadhi Yoga Ashram for my 200-hour yoga teacher training was the best decision I ever made. The staff and teachers were super friendly and knowledgeable. By the end of the 18-day intensive training we were so close, always laughing and hugging. I really feel like we all became a family. I made amazing memories there. The facility and accommodations met my expectations and had everything I needed. When I went in December it was a little cold but if you have enough blankets you will be fine! The staff also has plenty of blankets for people to use if needed. The food was delicious and plentiful every day. We also had enough time for breaks throughout the day to explore the town and have fun. Would highly recommend it!
