Surrender, Stillness & Subtle Energy: Master Fascia, Meridians, Mudras & the Taoist Science of Yin on the Island of the Gods

Surrender, Stillness & Subtle Energy

Our Yin Yoga Teacher Training in Bali

Our Yin Yoga Teacher Training in Bali is a focused immersion into the most subtle and powerful approach to yoga. Drawing from the Taoist principle of Yin and Yang, Yin Yoga is a slow, passive, meditative practice that targets the deeper layers of the body — fascia, connective tissue, joints, ligaments — while inviting the mind into stillness and the energy body into balance.

Held in the lush, tranquil setting of Samadhi Yoga Ashram Bali, this 5-day Yin TTC teaches the art of long-held postures (3–5 minutes), the science of meridians and chi flow, the use of mudras, props and breath, and the methodology to create purposeful Yin sequences for your own students. By the end you graduate as a certified Yin Yoga teacher rooted in both classical Hatha tradition and the Taoist science of stillness, taught by authentic Himalayan masters on the Island of the Gods.

Advantages of our Yin Yoga Teacher Training

The Subtle Power of Stillness, Surrender & Chi

Our Yin Yoga TTC in Bali is scientifically programmed to maintain a perfect balance between body and soul. You learn how each long-held posture works on different layers of the body — fascia, meridians, joints — and how the slow, meditative practice creates a profound impact on the nervous system, energy flow and inner awareness. With pranayama, meditation and props, you graduate ready to teach Yin Yoga effectively and safely.

You will understand the flow of Chi through the human body — the meridians, fascia and connective tissue — and master the art of directing it with breath, stillness and intelligent sequencing. Motion analysis, breathing techniques, use of props, posture variations and Yin-Yang balance are all part of a curriculum designed for both your personal practice and your teaching authority.

“Do not treat your body as yourself, treat it like a vehicle by which you travel. Yin Yoga is the art of listening to that vehicle — in stillness, the deeper layers reveal themselves.” — Yogi Vishnu, Founder, Samadhi Yoga Ashram

Enroll in our Yin Yoga TTC in Bali today to explore a different meaning of patience, perseverance and inner balance — certified by Samadhi Yoga Ashram, in the lush tropical setting of the Island of the Gods.

Course Hour Breakdown

Understanding The Structure Of Our Yin Yoga Teacher Training In Bali

The Yin curriculum is organised around its essential pillars — long-held floor postures, the meridian and fascia theory behind them, functional anatomy, and the meditative, breath-led approach that defines Yin. Together they form a complete grounding in both practising and teaching this quiet, deep style.

Each element is revisited daily through the immersion in Bali, so rather than studying theory and practice separately you experience them together every day. This repetition — the traditional gurukul method — is what turns a short Yin training into a genuine shift in how you practise and teach.

We Follow

The 5000 Years Old Yoga Tradition of The Himalayan Masters

Samadhi Yoga Ashram follows the teachings of generations of Himalayan masters and saints who lived in the cave hermitages of the Himalayas. The teaching lineage stretches back nearly 5,000 years and includes Adi Shankaracharya, Swami Rama of the Himalayas, and his student Swami Veda Bharati. This tradition was practiced for centuries without a single name — we refer to it simply as the Tradition of the Himalayan Masters.

Yogi Vishnu Panigrahi, the founder of Samadhi Yoga Ashram, is a student of Swami Veda Bharati — who was, in turn, a student of Swami Rama. Through this unbroken teacher-student chain, the practical methods of pranayama, meditation, kriya and yoga philosophy have been transmitted from one generation to the next without being diluted by trend.

Although yoga has roots in Hindu culture, it is not a religion. The Himalayan path is open to anyone — regardless of religion, language or nationality. What it asks of you is sincerity, regularity, and willingness to learn from a teacher. The classical teacher-student relationship is still the foundation of how we work.

The ashram teaches the full eight-limbed path of yoga — including Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Jnana Yoga, Raja Yoga, Kundalini Yoga and Tantra Yoga. A central instruction of the Himalayan tradition is "to be free of fear, become aware of the reality within." The work is practical, daily, and grounded — not abstract, not religious, not performative.

The Yin Yoga TTC at Samadhi was exactly the deep, slow practice I needed after years of fast-paced Vinyasa. Learning fascia, meridians and intelligent long-hold sequencing transformed how I teach. My Yin classes back home are now my most popular offering.

Holding postures for 3–5 minutes felt impossible at first — by the end of the week it felt like coming home. The teachers’ understanding of meridians, mudras and Yin-Yang balance gave me a completely new lens for yoga. The Yoga Nidra sessions alone were worth the trip.

As a yoga teacher who already had RYT 200, this Yin specialty course was exactly the upgrade I was looking for. The Taoist philosophy and meridian theory added depth my classes were missing. The ashram’s peaceful tropical setting in Bali made surrender into long holds feel natural.

As an Indian seeker, I appreciated how the Yin TTC blended Taoist principles with our own Hatha tradition so beautifully. The mudra practice during long holds, the Yoga Nidra sessions and the focus on subtle energy were exactly what my own practice was missing. Highly recommended.

FAQs - Yin Yoga TTC

Frequently Asked Questions - Yin Yoga Teacher Training In Bali

Yin Yoga is a gentle, passive practice where postures are held for 3–5 minutes to reach the deeper layers of the body — fascia, ligaments, joints and connective tissue. Unlike active Yang practices that engage muscles, Yin asks you to soften, surrender and let gravity do the work. The longer holds create a profound impact on the energy body, nervous system and subtle awareness.

Yin postures are typically held for 3–5 minutes — the deeper effect is usually felt after about 1.5 minutes. Beginners can start with 2–3 minutes and gradually extend the hold. Listen to the signals of your own body — the inner yoga teacher always has the final word. Postures may feel gentle, but the long holding time makes them remarkably effective.

Breath flows naturally during Yin practice — the more you relax in passive postures, the easier breathing becomes. Let the breath move with mindfulness, without measuring yourself against anyone else. If breath becomes rapid in active Yang sequences, take a short rest in child’s pose until it settles. The "inner yoga teacher" knows the right rhythm.

Yang practices are active and target the muscles — building strength, flexibility and circulation. Yin practices are passive and target the deeper layers — fascia, joints and connective tissue — while quieting the mind. In Yin, the back is evenly flexed and rounded, the pelvic floor stays relaxed, and you stretch only as far as you have further scope to sink deeper. Both are essential for true balance.

Yin Yoga requires self-awareness and care. What feels great for one body may be uncomfortable for another — individual anatomy matters. Ease into postures gently and never force a stretch. If you are pregnant, please inform us. Those with high blood pressure or intraocular pressure should be cautious with inversions or head-below-heart postures. People with severe back, neck or joint conditions should consult our teachers before practice.

No formal yoga background is required. Yin Yoga is gentle by nature and accessible to beginners with basic physical fitness. The course teaches you the foundations of fascia, meridians and long-held postures from scratch. A sincere mindset, openness to stillness and willingness to listen to your body are the only real prerequisites.

On successful completion of the Yin Yoga TTC, you receive a Samadhi Yoga Ashram completion certificate honouring your training in fascia, meridians, long-hold technique and the Taoist principles of Yin. This Yin specialty course is an in-house programme (not Yoga Alliance certified) and complements your existing RYT credentials, preparing you to teach Yin Yoga safely and intelligently.

Three sattvic vegetarian meals daily, prepared with locally sourced, seasonal ingredients to support yoga practice. Vegan needs can be accommodated — please inform us in advance. Accommodation is on-campus, with private and shared room options. The whole environment is designed as a quiet, restful space for inner stillness and surrender — perfect for Yin practice.
